Running Totals for 19 Jun 09

Well today I made the mistake of running in my new pair of shoes which it was the first time I have ever wore them. They say they're 11.5 BUT they don't fit like my other two pairs of shoes. But I thought I need to break them in so a nice long run would speed up the process. Well I did a nice long run in those shoes and what did I get for my efforts...a nice big blister on my left big toe. So I officially dubbed those new shoes my weight lifting shoes. I will wear them when I go to lift and gradually break them in...I hope. So now I have to deal with a very sore blister for the next little while. That should be a very good time. Today I ran 6.5 miles, burned 1,259 calories, and I ran/ hobbled for 70 minutes. Plus while I was running I had a nasty case of heart burn so it was a pretty rough run. I guess not all runs are going to be spectacular, but I sure wish they were. I hope everyone is doing good and I love and miss you all. Until next time...

Thursdays totals. Ran 6.22 miles which took 80 minutes and burned 1076 calories. I did the warm up on incline again to burn more calories. I only have 18 miles in so far. Need to get in 12 more for my 30. I think I can do it. I need one more week of 30 miles, then I will try and fit in some cycling or weigh lifting. It's hard to fit everything in and work also. Work just gets in the way don't it. If I was a moring person I could ride my bike to work and come home with mom. But I'm not. I also don't know if I can recuperate from that much exercise, because I would like to pick up my running mileage to 40. You take care. love ya dad

I know what you mean when you say that work gets in the way of your work out time. I mean that is all I have to do here is work and workout but it still gets in the way. Now if I only had to work 6 hours a day then I would probably bitch about that also. I guess the solution is to suck it up and do the workouts when I can. I would love to be able to put in 40-50 miles a week but I think my legs would fall off!!! Maybe once I get all the weight off I can accomplish that. Well I hope that you are all well.
