Running Totals for 02 Jun & 03 Jun 09

Well since my Internet account expired yesterday I was without the Internet for all of yesterday. I had to run over after I got off work and re-up my subscription for another month. And it took them all day to get around to updating my account, but at least it is updated now. We had two Fallen Comrade ceremonies yesterday which was pretty sad and really brings the reality of how dangerous outside of this base can be. I think since I have arrived here there have been around 10 Fallen Comrade ceremonies so far which is way too many. On a brighter note, I was notified of my tentative departure date from this lovely place which is the 28th of August. We will go to Manas Air Base in Kyrgyzstan (I really don't know how that is spelled) and wait for the rotator which we should leave out of there on the 30th of August. Obviously that is subject to change but at least it is something to look forward to. It makes my day a little happier to think that I actually have a departure date.

Anyways, on to the workouts for yesterday and today. Yesterday I ran 6.11 miles, burned 1,230 calories, and I ran for 66 minutes. Today I ran 6.11 miles (do you see a trend), burned 1,229 calories and I ran for 70 minutes at a little slower pace than yesterday. All in all, they were both pretty good runs. I think that I am eating too close to my runs so I may either try to eat earlier, if that is possible or eat something lighter. We will see how that goes. I think I will save my weight lifting until next week. I just don't have it in me at the moment. Well I will end this, until next time...

Wednesday morning June 3rd.
Hi, I hope you are doing fine today, it sure was good talking to you on Skype last night. I wanted to post my totals for May. I ran 78.73 miles in 16.57 hours and burned 14,912 calories. No weight lifting and only 10 miles on the bike. That is really not to bad because the week before the marathon I did not run at all and the week after I only put in 10. I will run right up to the marathon this time. By the way, my friend Dee Ivie signed up for the Utah Valley Marathon yesterday. After Ogden I didn't think he would run another one, but the marathon bug has bitten him. Tuesday I ran 6.15 miles which took 70 minutes and burned 1116 calories. I am tired this morning, but the knee is feeling pretty good. take care love ya dad
