Running Totals for 13 Jun 09 & Weekly Totals

Well here we are at the end of another running week which I am always happy for because that means I have a day off from running coming up. I thought that after putting in 40 miles that I would limp into my day off BUT surprisingly I feel really good and so do my legs. Go Figure! Anyways, today I ran 8 miles, because I had to make up for the mile I lost out on yesterday because of the treadmill vultures, I burned 1,534 calories, and I ran for 85 minutes. My weekly totals are as follows: I ran 42.81 miles, burned 8,197 calories, and I ran for 8 hours and 20 minutes. I am just pleased that I broke 40 miles this week. Good luck Dad on your marathon this weekend. I love and miss you all. Until next time...

Hi boy, hope your day off was good. Me, Billy and the girls went to Provo to watch your dad finish marathon. He did okay and and actually looked pretty good at the finish. I am having a good visit with Kathi, it is good to see her and be with the family. I miss you tons and wished you were home with your family. Please be safe and know you are always in my prayers. Love ya, Momma

I am glad you got in your 40 miles fot the week. You are doing so good and I am proud of you for sticking with it. I did finish the marathon. Utah Valley M. is a nice run, they blocked off the down canyon right hand lanes with barrels all the way to the bottom of the canyon. The rest went thru nice neighborhoods picking up the trail here and there. No major road crossings because the trail went under them clear to Utah Lake State Park. In the park you ran next to the river under a canopy of Cottonwood Trees. All in all it was quite senic and mostly flat. My time was a little better, I finished around 5:45, which is better than the last two. I took off about 20 minutes or so. I still had to walk more than I wanted to and I had the moments when I was wondering what the HELL am I doing. Number 28 down. I am going to walk on the treadmill today and see if I can get some of the soreness out of my legs sooner. Once I walk I will post my totals for the week. Love ya dad

I think it is great that it was a good marathon. The whole point is the enjoyment of the race I think. If you keep doing marathons every month you time is bound to come down. I hope that when I do the Naha one that I can finish it in under 6 hours. I hope you can get the soreness worked out of your legs quicker than last time. Take it easy for awhile. I am sure that is pretty traumatic on your body.

Love, Brandon
