Well we had two more Fallen Comrade ceremonies while I was at work today. One when I got on shift and then another this morning. It is just too many people losing their lives over here. It is definitely sad to see how many troops make the ultimate sacrifice for our country. This makes it all too real for me to see it first hand. I hope no one minds me posting about the Fallen Comrade ceremonies, I just want to let you know what we are dealing with here and obviously it is worse in the summer time. If anyone has a problem or is troubled by this just let me know and I will quit writing about them.
Well with that being said, my Nike+ decided to work today so I have some sort of proof that I ran today. It was a fairly decent run except that I had heart burn the whole time which sucked. But I sucked it up and ran for my usual 70 minutes. Instead of taking tonight off I am going to run tonight so that I don't have to run on my actual day off. I am just not motivated to go and run after my 12 hour shift especially when I run the rest of the week during my duty hours. So I think this will work out for the best in the long run. Today I ran 6.15 miles, burned 1238 calories, and I ran for 70 minutes. I am glad that I only have one more day this week of running and then I will have a day off, it is needed badly! I am happy that Heather found her a treadmill to use at the house. I hope that having it will keep her motivated to run and give her a little more flexibility on when she has time to run. I love and miss you all. Until next time...

Is that first paragraph directed at me? You know I like living in my own little world where you are safe and happy and nothing bad can happen to you! I know the truth though I am sure all of the cerimonies must be hard for you.
I love my new (to me) treadmill. I got up early this morning and ran 2 miles. I was going to keep running but right after I hit 2 miles I heard "Momma where are you?" coming from upstairs so I knew I better stop.
I have no excuse not run now which is nice. Although I did pull a muscle in my shoulder this morning but it is my own fault for thinking I could run first thing in morning and not stretch first! I can't even icy hot it because I can't reach it :(
Brandon I don't think anyone of us mind you writing about the Fallen Camrade ceremonies. It is just us spoiled Americans (me) that have never been to war don't realize the full impact of the situation there. We see it on the news and it bothers us but having you, our loving son, there telling us and actually see and being a part of these ceremonies hurts our hearts. We are used to you being at Nellis or in Italy or even Kuwait. If you never write about another one we would all be happy. But the situation is so different there we know that won't happen. You keep writing about whatever you want, we both love reading your blog. My totals Thursday are: ran for 6.18 miles with took 71 minutes and I burned 1099 calories. Legs are dead so I had to walk then run at a faster pace to get the miles in. love dad
I was just curious if my writing about the ceremonies bothered anyone but I will keep writing how I am doing here and what the atmosphere is. I just like to share what is going on here BUT not everything that is going on here if you catch my drift. Somethings are better left unsaid. It sounds like you had a good run. I hope the legs are recovering from your run and I hope that you have time to prepare for your next marathon in mid-June.
Heather, you know I would never tell you anything dangerous that happens here. I think it would kill you and mom to know if something bad happens on this base (which hasn't happened by the way). I just want to share what I am experiencing here while I am away from you and the girls.
It's nice to have family to talk to about some of the things that are going on here so I still feel connected to home. Well I love and miss you all.
Love, Brandon
