Weigh In Day & Running Totals for 01 Jun 09

Well I am a little frustrated for a couple of reasons, first my Nike+ is giving me fits for my morning run. Normally my Nike+ is a little ahead of what the treadmill reads mileage wise, because of my stride on the treadmill I normally run a little farther than what the treadmill says. Well that wasn't the case today, I actually ran faster than I normally do because I wanted to get in a longer run this morning. When my Nike+ is working correctly it gives me a reminder every mile I run but for some reason I was half a mile off by the end of my first mile. When I checked to see what it was doing my speed was like a roller coaster so I don't know what was going on. On the treadmill it says I ran 7 miles but I barely got 6.1 on my Nike+. Since this is the first time it has happened with this sensor I will just have to keep an eye on it.

My second frustration is that I have hit my first weight plateau. It sucks but I think this is where I hit my first plateau in Kuwait also, right around 260. All I need to do is work through it and my weight should keep coming off. I think that now that it is June and that I run during work I am going to incorporate some weights into my schedule now. Once I get off work I will head to the gym and do a quick 45-60 minute workout. I think that will help the weight loss also. Now is a good time to start recording what I am eating also. That way I can start tracking how many calories I am actually taking in. My running totals for today were as follows: I ran 6.11 miles, burned 1230 calories, and I ran for 76 minutes. I weighed in at 262 today so I only lost one pound this week which I don't understand how that is possible but it is what it is. So in total I have lost 20 lbs. since I arrived here. You sure have some good totals. I think your running is coming along wonderfully. Don't you hate those plateaus, they suck. I did not run this weekend. My excuse Friday was Grandpa and Sat and Sun it is my allergies. I did get the lawns mowed and edged. Grass pollen is high and it wipes me out. I will try and get it together Monday. I did sign up for the Utah Valley Marathon on June 13th, had to. It will be my first marathon since turning 60 (still don't like that number). I think it would be worth your while to track you calories for awhile. The weights, light weights high reps. probably do you some good. Monday I ran for 70 minutes, went 6.12 miles and burned 1100 calories. Allergies are still bad but I sucked it up and went anyway, glad that I did. I lost 1 lb. last week. I have all my totals at work and I will let you know my monthly total Tuesday. love ya dad

Hi boy, hope you are doing as well as can be expected. It is nice that you have a month under your belt, I don't want to hurry the summer but I wished it was four for and your family. But truthfully I wished it was next May and were coming home for a month. I miss you a lot and it sounds like your weight loss is coming along nicely. Kathi is coming for a visit in two weeks and I can't wait to see her. She'll be here for four days. I will close for now. I love you my boy be safe and know you are in our prayers always. Your mom.
