Running Totals for 12 May 09

Ok, first off I am a little frustrated with my Nike+ system because for some reason I can't get it to sync yesterday's run. For some reason it really pisses me off and I want to step on my iPod to show it I mean business!! Alrighty, now that I got that off my chest, today I wasn't very motivated to go run. But I knew that once I got over there and got on the treadmill that I would feel better. Well that feeling didn't come for 40 minutes. I felt like I was running in mud today. I wanted to quit so bad but I knew if I did I would be pissed that I didn't get in 5 miles today. I think I am a little obsessive-complusive with running. I don't feel like I got in a workout unless I put in 5 miles. It's a runner's sickness or in my case at the moment a joggers sickness because I run at a turtles pace right now. And I am not sure if that will ever change. Ok, let's get on with it so I can hit the hay and wake up in a few hours to work another wonderful 12 hour shift in Afghanistan. Today I ran 5.63 miles, burned 1163 calories, and I ran for 60 minutes with a 5 minute cooldown on the end. All in all it was a good run and I am glad that I did it. Until next time...

I have had those day before. Just stick with it and get through this, starting back up time, and you will adapt. You probably want to tell me to go to hell right now but it gets easier. I know we love our gadgets but they sure can be frustrating. My gps had a loose spring that holds the battery in and the jaring would break the contact and I would lose everything, that sucked. I am proud of you. love ya dad

I was thinking about getting a Garmin 405 when I got home or after I get Heather's approval. I like all of the features on that device. I like my Nike+ but it is only an estimation where the GPS would be exact. It wouldn't help me while I am here because I am running on the treadmill but I think I will pick one up when I get home. I hope your light workouts are going good. This is turning out to be a good time. And I would never tell you to go to hell. Getting back in shape will improve my health and lower my blood pressure. I only see benefits with doing this.

Love, Brandon
