Weekly Totals & Running Totals for 15 Aug 09

Well the week of running is finally over and we are winding down towards the end of my time here at Bagram. I start my last full week of running next week. I like my new little work out that I am doing at the moment. Running a 5K and then doing a half our of hill work. It's pretty nice and it kicks my butt. Today I got in 5.55 miles, burned 1,135 calories, and I went for 65 minutes. My totals for the week are as follows: I ran 47.5 miles, burned 8,606 calories, and I ran for 8 hours and 3 minutes. It was a good week. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

My beautiful wife Heather registered me for the Naha Marathon yesterday so it is official, I am running the Naha Marathon on the 6th of December. NOW, it seems scary!! Until next time...

I am happy you have changed up your plan. I wanted to say something about trying to get the 700 miles in but I kept my mouth shut. I think concentrating on your marathon is a wise choice. With getting everything ready to leave that place it might have been a little much. Glad you got signed up for the Naha Marathon. It motivated me to sign up for the Las Vegas Marathon tonight. We might not be able to run the marathons together but we will both be running a marathon on Sunday December the 6th. I think that it will be fun. Thursday I ran 7.01 miles in 75 minutes and burned 1222 calories. I will do a long run tomorrow (Saturday) of hopefully 12 to 15 miles. Did you say that you were using Hal Higdon's training program. Let me know which one and I will try and follow along. The good thing about Vegas for me is no hills. I would like to run it at 200 lbs. We will see. love ya dad ps. mom is feeling a little better but not all the way yet.

Well it looks like we are both locked in for the marathons in December. It should be a good experience. I am using the Intermediate I training program off of his website. That will give me 2x 20 mile runs which should boost my confidence a little. Plus doing a couple 20 milers in the Oki hills will do me good. I am glad that mom is starting to get back on her feet. I know how those bugs wipe her out. I hope to be under 220 when I run my race in December. The lighter the better. Love Ya.
