Back in Oki 4 Sep!!

Well today we got our itineraries and we will be back in Okinawa on Friday, September 4th!! Finally, it is at the end or very close anyways. Now time will drag since we know when we will be home. The good thing is that is the beginning of our 4 day weekend for Labor Day. Anyway you look at it, it will be really sweet! I decided to take and extra day off from running but the main reason was I got caught up in the PGA Championship and I watched Y.E. Yang beat out Tiger Woods for the Trophy. It was a very exciting match (that's if you like watching golf). That puts me a little behind for my 650 goal but I should still make it no problem (knock on wood). Today I ran 6.81 miles, 1,197 calories, and it took me 65 minutes. It was a good run and I hope to continue those over my last 7 days of running. I hope everyone had a good weekend. Until next time...

Hooray for coming home! Now if only you didn't live on the other side of the world.

I agree with Pam all the way. I hope if you have a stop in the Good Ole USA you will call your Momma. I am finally on the mend. This bug kicked the crap out of me this time. I hope I am done for this winter season. I love and miss you tons and missed you calling on Sunday. Be Safe. Mom

I am glad that you have a date. Do you know when you are moving to the other part of the base? I started Hal Higdon's Interimate 1 program in week #3 of his program. It was strange only doing 3 miles. With warm up I ran 3.66 miles in 40 minute and only burned 626 calories. I have to change things up though. I will do Mon 3m, Tue 5m, Wed 3m, Thurs 5m at race pace with Fri doing my long runs, Sat off and Sun x-training (cycling). I will see how this works and if I need it I will take off Sun. instead of x-training. I also have to pick-up my long run mileage because of the Goblin Valley 50k the 24th of Oct. This will be major intense for me. I will have to watch everything with extreme care. Training for 2 different types of events at the same time is alway a challenge. Time will only tell. Just Run. love ya dad

We move over to the other side of the base on the 27th, so I won't have Internet then. At least not until we get to Manas or maybe even back to Oki. I am not totally sure. I am sure it will be a challenge to train for both events. I am sure you will come up with something though. I am still having problems with my right shin. I am starting to wonder if it is more than a shin splint. I guess I will have to wait and see when I get back to Oki and make a doctors appt. Love ya.
