Running Totals for 05 Aug 09

Well it was back on the treadmill today which went pretty well. Who would have thought that a day of rest could do so much, go figure. But anyways, it was back to work. I still have some mileage to cover before I leave this place. Nothing too exciting is going on at the moment which is always a good thing when it comes to Afghanistan. Today I ran 6.67 miles, burned 1,197 calories, and I ran for 65 minutes. I might continue to skip my Tuesday run to recuperate from my longer runs on Monday. I am sure it won't hurt. I guess I will just have to see how I feel after next Monday's run and go from there. Until next time...

Days off are good for the body as you have found out. Bad for the psyche but good for the body. Those longer run really take it out of you. I use to take the day before and the day after off. I think that is what you are going to do. My total for Tuesday. Ran 6.09 mile in 1h05m and burned 1029 calories. I notice now that I am running more consistently that I am hungry all the time. Trying to not eat will be the new challenge. love ya dad

That is my burden also. I am hungry more and I don't always or should I say hardly ever pick the right things to eat. I don't like skipping runs but I am not an elite athelete who can go hard every day. My body is trying to tell me that right now. Plus I need to start tapering back somewhat or I will not be able to run when I get back. So I think that I will tone down my longer runs on Monday's. And save the super long runs for when I get back to Oki. Love Ya.
