Running Totals for 15 Jul 09
Well this I have pretty much been tired the whole time. I just can't seem to get some good sleep. Plus my runs have been pissing me off because my right leg is totally out of whack for some reason and therefore throws off my stride which stresses out my other leg. It takes me around 40 minutes to get my right leg warmed up but when it finally comes around I punish it by running the rest of my hour at 7.5 on the treadmill!! I hope it is nothing serious and I don't think it is because if I thought it was I wouldn't run on it. I know someone is thinking it so I needed to say it. I am just frustrated about it because I know I could be running much faster and farther than I currently am so that sucks! Anyways, I will step down off of my pity box and get to my totals for the day. I ran 7.5 miles, burned 1.392 calories, and I ran for 80 minutes. I hope everyone is doing fine and your week is going good. We are down to 43 days until my replacement gets here and I am starting to see the light at the end of this very crappy tunnel. Hi Brandini, hope all is well with you. We are good. I talked to Heather yesterday. It was nice talking with her. I could your baby in background screaming, "You're mean." at her Momma. It was good to hear from you. Sorry you are having trouble with your sleep, right leg and being tired all the time. You know this but you have classic signs of over-training syndrome. I think the weight lifting finally put you over the edge. You have steadly been picking up your mileage to the point you reached 50 miles last week. Then you added in weight training on top of that and KaBoom. I see three ways to handle this. Cut your mileage in half and stop weight lifting for 1 week. Figure in one more rest day, cut your mileage back to 40 and cut the weight lifting for 1 week. Do what you have been doing and see if it get better or worse. I know when you get a mind set that it is hard to change. Sometimes you have to, too be able to run another day. Step away for a minute and think this out and you will come up with what you know you need to do. My Tuesday totals are. I ran for 6.01miles which took 68 minutes and burned 1050 calories.
