Well today I trying something new with work and running. The guy I am working with, SSgt Abner and I decided to incorporate gym time in our work schedule. He goes to the gym and then I go to the gym. It seems like it will work for us as long as the others working in our shop don't get a wild hair up their bums and rat us out. Not that we are doing anything wrong, it's just that if people think we have an advantage over them then their feelings get hurt. The good part about this is soon to be MSgt Esposito is on our shift and he out ranks everyone and he goes to the gym during duty hours. So I doubt anyone will say anything. I think this will work out better because now that I am running on duty hours I won't have to worry about getting 8 hours of sleep and I now have extra time on my hands which is good for the little things, like dropping off laundry.
My run today was a pretty good one. I was totally expecting my knee to bother me early on in my run but it didn't start hurting until the 55 minute mark which was excellent. So I got in a full 60 minutes of running today. Alrighty, today I ran 6.11 miles, burned 1230 calories, and I ran for 64 minutes. It was a good run but I hope I don't pay for it tomorrow which I probably will. I hope everyone is doing good and I love and miss you all. Until next time...

Hi, hope you are doing well. I haven't wrote because I can't seem to bring up the internet on my computer at home. The kids were on it all weekend with no problems, I get on it after they left and write on your blog, it closes out and won't send my comments to you. I try and log in and it won't let me. I am sorry to here your knee is giving you fits. Mine hurts most of the time, just not enough to make me stop running. I had a good week after the marathon. I did 4 work out for 9.15 miles, burned 1192 calories which took me 2h30m. Not to much, just enough. I am going to pick it back up today. Grandpa got through the weekend ok. I just hope he goes to the doctor today. you take care love ya dad
Hey, Cousin. Keep up the good work on the running. You're kicking some ass. I have some knee issues also, but like your Dad says "not enough to keep me from running" . Bonnie and I did a 5k on Saturday. I ran 25:26, she ran 33:31. Not really fast for either of us but it was fun doing a run together.
Brandon I want to say thank you for the sacrifice you're making being away from your family for our Country. I can't imagine not being able to go home and see my kids each night and I got all choked up reading about your little girl's birthday and you not being there. Anyway, thanks, take care and our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Cody
Dad that sucks about your computer. I hope that you can get it figured out pretty soon. I know it would drive me crazy not having access to the Internet so be able to post my daily runs, talk to my family, etc. I am glad that you are getting back into running and that the marathon didn't completely wipe you out. It will be fun to run with each other once again.
Cody, thank you for you encouragment. It really helps to hear uplifting words like yours. Sometimes it feels like we really don't have a purpose here but I know we are making an impact on the people of Afghanistan and keeping the Taliban from gaining control over this country once again. That is great that you and Bonnie are running. It is nice to get out and do things together, no matter what it is. Thank you for the note. It means a lot.
Brandon
