HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!!!!!!
I wanted to post this now just in case I don't get to post the next couple of days. We will try to call this weekend and talk to you guys. Fingers crossed that Vonage decides to work!! Today was my "hit the wall" day. I knew it was coming and it came with fury today. I worked my way through it and I told myself that even if I have to walk my whole work out, I AM GOING TO THE GYM!! And I would like to say that it wasn't that bad when I finally got to the gym but I would be lying. It was a blood, sweat, & tears workout today. But the important thing is that I got through it and tomorrow is another day. I do know one thing though, it's time for another pair of shoes. I will order another pair of the ones I have now because I really like them. I got in a total of 5.31 ROUGH miles but it was worth it. At least that is what I keep telling myself. Fat Brandon would disagree! Run Fatboy Run!!!

Volleyball game
Well I didn't get in a run today because of the 12 hour shift and plus a Squadron volleyball game tonight. If I would have thrown a run in there I wouldn't have had much time for the family today. I guess switching it up every now and then helps with the burn out. Plus I really like playing sports when I can get away from work. Still looking to get in my 100 miles for the month. We will see how that goes. It is crazy humid outside right now so most of my running will take place inside for now. Anyways I feel like I run faster when I use the treadmill. I have set a short term goal of being out of the 250's by the end of July. That way when I "officially" start my marathon training on 1 August I can shoot for the 220's by the time I run my race at the beginning of December. Good times!!

Totals for 7 Jun 2011
Well another day is in the books. Two days down and four days to go to string together a week of running. That would be a first in a loooong time. I guess we will see how it goes. I am going to take it one day at a time. Well I think summer has officially arrived here in Okinawa or at least the nasty humidity has arrived. The nice thing is it still isn't overly hot here. Plus we can always take a trip down to the beach to cool off. Life is pretty boring here right now because there isn't much else to do during the week when you are working 12 hour shifts and then running for an hour after that. I do look forward to the weekends though.
Today I got in 5.65 miles and normally the 2nd day is a little tougher than the first but today wasn't the case. I am waiting for the "tired" day to hit any day now.

Well I need to find some motivation right now. It is hard spending over 12 hours each day at work and then try to find the energy to get to the gym for a workout. But this is my life for the next year until we leave Kadena. There have been a lot of people who were supposed to come to Kadena that has been medically disqualified and replacements won't show up until the first of the year. So that means more with less, which seems to be the Air Force's motto lately. Plus we are still getting hit hard with deployments, so come October we will be a skeleton crew working a very high ops tempo which means working more hours. Gotta love Kadena!! I am ready to move on that's for sure. I need a change of scenery. Overseas listing comes out in August and then stateside listing should be out in January. I guess we will see what happens.
I did make it to the gym today though, I got in 5.51 miles. I still plan on running the Naha Marathon in December. I still hope that is in my future and I just need to commit to the training required to run that race regardless of hours spent at work. I start the Hal Higdon training plan 1 August so I need to get in some good base miles in June and July. 100 miles each month should do the trick. If I'm putting in the some serious miles my weight loss should take care of itself like it has in the past. Now I just need to find the time and motivation to get in those miles!!

Well since I am smack dab in the middle of a LORE exercise getting my workouts in requires a little more effort on my part. Since we are working 12+ hour shifts and trying to get enough sleep on top of spending a little time with my family this week. Needless to say it is a little difficult. But with that being said I made a commitment to myself that this would be the trial week for me. If I can knock out a 60+ minute run everyday this week it should boost my commitment once again. At least that is the goal. I want to see the 240's on the scale once again and that is my motivation right now. I don't ever want to see 260 on the scale and I am kinda close to that right now. So it is time to get to work and finally get to where I want to be. I got in 5.46 miles last night. About half way through my run I was feeling pretty nauseous so I slowed it down and walked some to get through the work out. I think the run earlier in the day plus the lack of sleep didn't help. We will see how tonight's run or walk goes. Something is better than nothing this week. STREAK! That's my word for this week. Throw together 6 consecutive workouts this week.

Ok, two weeks of healing for my leg issues, so I should be good to go once again. Even if I am not, I can't wait any longer. Weighed in at 257.8 lbs this morning so I have a little ground to make up if I want to be in the 240's by the end of this month. It can be done with the right motivation and eating. We will see what the second half of the month brings. I got in 6.66 miles this morning, the Devil's run! It was a good start to hopefully a good week. We started our LORE (Local Operational Readiness Exercise) today so I am working 12PM-12AM this whole week. That should be interesting. When I get off at night I will head to the gym and get my runs in. I will save the TRX for next week when things get back to normal, well Kadena normal that is. IT IS TIME!!!!!

Pass PT test.....Check!!
Well it is over and I passed with flying colors. I weighed in at 250lbs with a 38" waist. I did 56 push ups, 54 sit ups, and did my mile and a half in 10:37. I scored a 91.2%. Since I scored over 90% I don't have to do another PT test for a year and I am very stoked about that. Now I can focus on the training that I want to do and start looking towards the Naha Marathon in December. I can also focus on getting under 220 lbs. before I run that race. I got in a total of 7.37 miles today which I am pleased with. I also did about 30 minutes on my TRX. I was pretty spent after those 30 minutes and I want to do more with my TRX but not today. Last week I got in a total of 40.98 miles so it was a good week. I am looking to duplicate those totals this next week and hopefully work through these shin splints that are plaguing me. My fingers are crossed. Until next time...
